Halifax District RCMP report - Break-and-enter's
2/1/2010

Break and Enter
During the month of December 2009, there were 14 reported cases of break and enter in the Fall River area.
It is a significant increase over the same period the year before where there were only three cases reported within that time frame. These numbers refer to incidents of people’s homes being broken into that have been reported to police. Break and enters tend to happen in waves. To minimize the risk of becoming a victim, homeowners should always be vigilant when it comes to protecting their property. Good lighting is an excellent deterrent. It’s also important to trim back any brush and keep sidewalks clear. People should make sure their windows and doors are locked and they should pay particular attention to what’s happening in their neighbourhood as well, and report any suspicious activity to police.
