Man robbed at knifepoint in Lower Sackville

LOWER SACKVILLE: RCMP is investigating after a man was robbed at knife point Jan. 24, on a pathway behind Leslie Thomas Junior High School in Lower Sackville. In a press release, Const. Dawn Duhart, acting media relations officer with Halifax District RCMP, said a 26-year old male was on the pathway behind the school when he was approached by two suspects, one of which was holding a can of bear spray while the other held a knife. “The suspects proceeded to rob the victim of cash and jewellery,” Const. Duhart said. “The one holding the knife then cut the victim’s cheek with the knife.” She added the suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewellery. The victim managed to make his way to a friend’s house and was taken to the Cobequid Health Centre where he received stitches for his injuries. He has since been released, Const. Duhart said.
