FALL RIVER: An 18-year-old male and female and two youth males have been arrested following a brazen break-and-enter in the Fall River Village area early in the morning of June 2. Halifax District RCMP responded to a call from a male home owner at 2:50 a.m. that four suspects were rummaging through his Howard Lane home. He was awaken by the sounds of clinking bottles, said Cpl. Joe Taplin, Public Affairs Officer with Halifax District RCMP. “He then observed four suspects flee the house,” Cpl. Taplin said. “He immediately called RCMP with a description of the suspect vehicle.” A short time after receiving the report, RCMP officers patrolling the area observed the vehicle pulling away from behind a business located oat the intersection of Cobequid Road and Windsor Junction Road. Police arrested the 18-year-old male and female and two 17-year-old youths at the scene. Upon further investigation, a search of the vehicle uncovered a large amount of stolen goods. Among those items uncovered by police were golf clubs, a large quantity of liquor, iPODs, a DVD player and other items, Cpl. Taplin said. “These items maybe from another break and enter, or theft from vehicles in the Fall River Village area,” he added. “Police also seized bear spray, a pellet pistol, brass knuckles and a large knife from the suspects.” RCMP are asking the public to contact the Lower Sackville office of the RCMP if they discover their vehicle was broken into overnight in the Fall River Village area. All four suspects remain in police custody at press time for The Laker, Cpl. Taplin said. The investigation into the matter is continuing. phealey@enfieldweeklypress.com
